Small Passenger Vessels Solution

Zero Emission, Silent, Comfortable

HyMatt-Tech‘s full electric propulsion system for small passenger vessels is designed for short‑range routes. It combines an LanghESS‑S1 modular battery with a high‑efficiency permanent magnet motor for zero‑emission, low‑noise sailing. The system supports fast shore power charging, and its modular design allows easy future expansion. Optional remote monitoring and class society certification are available – delivering a quiet, comfortable ride for passengers while helping operators cut fuel and maintenance costs.

Safety & redundancy

Passenger vessels carry people. Any propulsion failure leads to safety incidents and legal liability. Class societies impose the strictest rules for battery systems on passenger ships.

Battery system designed toDNV passenger vessel standards(dual BMS, thermal runaway isolation, fault redundancy). Supports uninterrupted power to critical loads; meets SIL requirements.

Silent & comfortable

Passenger experience is the core competitiveness. Diesel engine noise, vibration, and exhaust seriously harm the voyage experience and reputation.

Zero noise, zero vibrationin pure electric mode. Direct drive motor, no gearbox whine. Passengers can talk, view scenery, and rest in a quiet environment.

Zero emission & green image

More and more ports, fjords, and inland waterways require zero‑emission operation for passenger vessels. Passengers also prefer eco‑friendly boats.

All‑electric, zero tailpipe emission , no oily bilge water discharge. Market as “zero‑carbon tour boat / green ferry” to enhance brand value and meet tourism green certifications.

Fast charging & high turnover

Ferries and tour boats operate on tight schedules. Berthing time is short (5‑15 minutes). Batteries must charge quickly without delaying departures.

Battery system supportsup to 1C‑2C fast charging . Recharge 30‑50 kWh in 15 minutes. Compatible with shore DC fast chargers or pantographs. Smart charging strategy protects battery life.

Hybrid

Recommended:LanghESS‑S1 custom system .
Example configuration: 96V / 24 kWh, with BMS and energy management.
Outcome: Peak shaving, fuel savings of 30–50%, extended diesel life.

Full electric propulsion

Recommended:propulsion integration
Example configuration: 144V / 50–80 kWh, 10–20 kW PMSM.
Outcome: Zero fuel consumption, 6–8h range, noise60 dB.

Shore Power Energy Storage

Recommended:HMT shore power energy storage system
Example config:LanghESS-C1 container battery + PCS + EMS + shore power interface
Outcome:Plug play, peak shaving, lower port electricity costs. Optional remote monitoring class certification.

Sightseeing Boat Electric Propulsion Upgrade

After upgrading to HyMatt-Tech‘s all‑electric propulsion, a sightseeing boat achieved zero‑emission, ultra‑quiet operation. Guests no longer suffer diesel fumes or engine noise, enjoying nature undisturbed. Electricity costs are far below diesel, maintenance is nearly zero, and the boat secured eco‑tourism certification – becoming a green highlight of the attraction, with significantly higher bookings and positive reviews.

FAQs

Our most frequently asked questions

Are batteries seawater resistant?

HyMatt‑P1 and LanghESS‑S1 cabinets are salt‑spray tested, IP67 sealed, with marine‑grade corrosion‑resistant connectors.

Is charging convenient?

Use ordinary 220V shore power (slow charge) or optional DC fast charge. Small solar panels can also be added for trickle charging.

What is battery lifespan?

5,000 cycles retaining 80% capacity. One full discharge daily equals over 13 years of use.

Do I need a new charger?

If replacing lead‑acid with HyMatt‑P1 at the same voltage, the original charger may work, but we recommend a lithium‑specific charger for optimal lifespan.

Will the retrofit pass vessel inspection?

We provide complete drawings and documentation to assist with ZC or CCS approval. Successful cases exist.
